Happy Birthday to the Man of the House!

I do not claim to be an expert on Dane. I know a lot but not everything. He said to was OK to blog about him as long as it was not embarrassing. So we'll see how it goes......

We are going to do "37" things you may or may not know.

1-This picture was taken in Oregon. My old, old stomping ground. It brings make memories of being in optometry school. We rarely saw family. This one was a combined trip to see his family and my dad.

2-Optometry school taught him a lot and gave him his occupation. It was fours in length. And after 4 years we stayed in Alabama. A surprise to all of us.

3-During optometry school he never, ever once studied on Sunday. It was always amazing to see him stay up to midnight and stop. We were blessed because of his diligence.

4-Dane loves gardening.

5-He finally has a real garden this year and loves it.

6-He wanted Katie to be named Michelle, which I vetoed.

7-Michelle is his favorite name.

8-He loves orange juice.

9- He always wears his shoes.

1o-He grew up in California.

11-Served a mission in England.

12-He loves soccer

13-He has coached a lot of soccer.

14-He is the oldest of 6.

15-Really, really loves his Blackberry.

16-War and Peace is his favorite book.

17-He loved ROCK music in high school. You know the kind I would turn off because it scared me.

18-He protects and loves his family dearly.

19-Teaches his kids with such patience and understanding.

20-He loves to be outside.

21-He is a good joke/story teller unlike me.

22-His favorite chore is vacuuming.

23-He is the BiGgEst College Football fan around.

24-He wears a shirt and tie 6 days out of the week.

25-He loves water parks.

26-He feel off a 50 foot cliff.

27-He gets a little nervous with heights, especially with the kids.

28-He courted me in LA, which was so fun.

29-He loves Mozart's Magic Flute. Really loves it.

30-He is learning to speak French.

31-Is is very, very patience with me or maybe the word is understanding. (Thank you!)

32-He thinks about things on such a deep level. He makes you think.

33-He never listened to U2 before me. But now it's one of his favorite bands.

34-I made him a pyramid cake once for his birthday. Now the cakes come from the kids.

35-He enjoys a good movie.

36-He loves popcorn and will eat it all. So you have to get in there fast if you want some.

37-He doesn't care about his age. He thinks 37 is young! (ha!)
