Lessons learned.

Over this past month my life as been somewhat crazy. I know I say that a lot and it probably is a state of being for me. But I have learned a few lessons and have a few things to share.

I miss my mom. She is an treasure in my life.

Having modern medicine to cure illness and give relief is a blessing.

Just when one school nurse calls one day it doesn't mean they won't call again and again. Oh and the other school nurse too. Yup. (9 days of kids home for one thing or another.)

Dallas is far in a van. It is worth every minute of the drive to see family.

Stopping to go to the bathroom gets old very fast. And so does cheap toilet paper. Geez.

Bad days and rough nights never go well together. I love a good nights sleep.

Having a husband who takes good care of me means the world to me. (Side note for all you idol fans out there......3 notes into Big Mike's song on Tuesday Dane said he was going home. I like the rest of the world thought he was nuts. Obviously I was wrong. He called it. Yup.)

I have officially become lost over LOST. I was so angry, tired, and plain mad at the show that during one episode I spaced out. I was there but my mind was lost. Ask Dane....he is not letting me live this one down.

Duty to God for Thomas requires him to do laundry for a month. Who thought is was a good idea for a young men to ruin the whole family's laundry and not just their own on their mission? Seriously? Still wondering and working on this.

I learned to grill shrimp.

My kids say the funniest things and I wish I could remember them. Old age is a lot worse than I thought.

I still want to travel the world with my family.

I have also learned that you should always pack extra clothes. Just in case......

And the most important lesson I remembered it that everyone needs a Sam in their life. I had the opportunity to watch the Lord of the Rings series again. And all I know is that everyone needs a Sam, a good friend, someone who is always there for you and you for them.

I finally gave in and just started watching LOST for the first time this week. I mean, I'm only halfway through season one. Don't ruin it for me!

And yes, everybody needs a Samwise. love him.
