14 years ago.....

Thomas came into this world. I was too tired that day. But the doctor said otherwise. I had pre-eclapmsia and he was coming ready or not. He has been here ever since and a pure joy. For his day here are 14 things you may or may not know about my friend.
1-Since day one he likes to be between Dane and I. Whether it is sleeping, walking or watching TV. He nestles his way in.
2-His favorite food is Blackened Red Snapper.
3-He is the best big brother around. He has more patience than me and gives so much to them.
4-Nothing makes him more happy than playing with friends these days. He is growing up.
5-He has had some injuries in his life. Scariest one was when the pole fell on him at Hulaco. That was a long hour waiting for him. I knew when I saw him he has not alright. Not a fun feeling. But with some rest and TLC it now makes a good story.
6-When he was a baby he refused to sleep for me. I was so sleep deprived. Then as a toddler he would stay up after I went to bed. He would play the night away.
7-He was born in Provo but is certainly from Alabama.
8-He is a pretty good tease. He gets better with age.
9-His Dad picked his name. I was OK with it as long as he never became a Tom. So far so good.
10-He can touch his tongue to his nose and does some weird things with his thumb.
11-One really funny fun story about Thomas happened in kindergarten. His class got in trouble for talking at lunch,. So during journal time he wrote in his book, "I did not do anything at lunch but eat." Oh how his teacher laughed and so did we.
12-He does not like potatoes. Never has.
13-Loves soccer. He would play forever if he could.
14-He is the best son imaginable. He came so fast after we were married, I hardly remember life without him. He makes me smile always.

Happy Birthday, Thomas. You are a keeper.

Happy 14th Birthday, Thomas! I can't believe that he is that old. I think I just remember his as an 8 yr old. He has grown into a fine young man. Mitchell turns 14 in June.
